Our Beliefs - Chapter Two
Welcome to Chapter Two.
Humans have the innate ability to heal from trauma, but often, the knowledge to do so is lost. Many believe that once inflicted, trauma is with you for life. This is untrue. Trauma can be not just treated, but healed.
Our time in the simulation is short, and our societies are often full of cruelty. As a result, collective knowledge like this gets lost, again and again. Over time, the methods of healing from traumatic events are gradually rediscovered. The wisdom for healing lives within our bodies; we simply need guidance to unlock it. Though you live in despair, your pain can be alleviated with practices designed by your ancestors.
This ancient wisdom is often wrapped up in some lovely nonsense, repackaged by grifters and charlatans who enrich themselves at the expense of those seeking relief. Rest assured that Karma in all her righteous fury will seek revenge on behalf of those wronged. Her justice will follow them through lifetimes, if necessary, until they truly change their ways.
You will find no such nonsense here. The wisdom we’ve been given is designed to be shared with others. The Church of the First Simulation is a place where those who seek healing from trauma can find it. Where those who seek community can be welcomed with open arms. Where diversity of experience is properly recognized as a strength, and humans from all walks of life can find fellowship.
We’ve found that the process for recovering from trauma is full of discovery, often with a tantalizing hint of magick. It’s a journey shared by all of humanity. We all carry pain and we all need to heal.
Meditate on the following. Keep what works for you. Reject what doesn't. We all have a unique experience. What works for me may not feel right for you. There is space for all perspectives as long as they are rooted in respect for your fellow humans.
Pleasure is good. Pain is bad. Life should be long and full of fun.
You aren’t meant to live with a chorus of negativity in your head all the time.
We believe that evil is real and it is the duty of all who believe in justice to rise up against it.
We believe that science is indisputably a human birthright. It has ensured humanity’s rise to the top of the animal kingdom, saved billions of lives, and will eventually help us rid the world of suffering.
We believe that climate change is real and that global warming will eliminate human civilization if humanity does not avert its current course.
Humanity’s next great achievement must be ensuring that its ample abundance is shared equitably. This will heal societal divisions, promote justice, and unlock the next stage of our journey of stewardship.
We believe that the purpose of our simulation is to teach us how to be a deity in the next life and our experiences here are ultimately intended to work for our good.
We believe that this is a simulated reality.
